Chandigarh, November 16, 2023: Dr. Amneet Gill, Panjab University, Chandigarh participated in an online debate on ‘Critical Raw Materials, Industrial Policy and Energy Transition’ co-hosted by the European University Institute’s Florence School of Regulation, Italy and the Institute for Policy Integrity, New York University, United States on 15 November 2023.
The discussion carefully examined some key provisions, goals and policy approaches of the governments, shedding light on their potential to drive innovation and mitigate environmental impacts. The discussion addressed the geopolitical equilibrium, exploring how certain government initiatives influence global geopolitics, trade dynamics, international power balances and shed valuable insights into the global community’s sustainability efforts.
Dr. Amneet Gill highlighted that India is laying emphasis on boosting exploration of critical minerals like lithium which are essential raw materials critical for powering green energy transition and the global race for green minerals.
