Rohtak, April 14, 2026: The SC/ST Employees Welfare Association of PGIMS, Rohtak celebrated the 135th birth anniversary of 'Bharat Ratna' Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar today at the Pt. Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. H.K. Agarwal attended the event as the Chief Guest. Distinguished guests present included Director Dr. S.K. Singhal, Dean Dr. Ashok Chauhan, Medical Superintendent Dr. Kundan Mittal, and Dean of Student Welfare Dr. Savita Singhal.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. H.K. Agarwal said that today, we have gathered to pay homage to a towering personality who not only drafted the Constitution of India but also laid a strong foundation for social justice, equality, and human rights. His life stands as a unique testament to struggle, education, and determination. Despite facing arduous circumstances, he wielded education as his most potent weapon.

The Vice-Chancellor recalled Dr. Ambedkar's famous exhortation: "Educate, Agitate, Organize." This message, he noted, remains just as relevant today. He further emphasized that we must ensure that healthcare services reach the very last person in society.

Director Dr. S.K. Singhal remarked that the lives of great personalities are not confined to any single community or society. Presiding over the program, Dean Dr. Ashok Chauhan observed that Baba Saheb's revolutionary ideas compelled society to engage in critical self-reflection. It is the outcome of that very mindset, he added, that has brought us all to where we stand today. Dean of Student Welfare Dr. Savita Singhal urged students to draw inspiration from Baba Saheb's life and strive to bring about positive change within society.
