The event was graced by Navpreet Bedi, PIS, Joint Director, Department of Industries and Commerce, as the Chief Guest. Her inspiring address lauded the students for embodying India’s unity in diversity and emphasized the role of youth in preserving intangible cultural heritage. The esteemed panel of judges added gravitas to the competition with their discerning expertise.
‘Jhankaar’ unfolded as a magnificent kaleidoscope of India’s folk traditions. Students showcased the vibrant ethos of diverse states through captivating performances — the spirited Dekhni of Goa, the resplendent Lavani of Maharashtra, the vigorous Phag of Haryana, the graceful Bihu of Assam, the rustic Raslila of Uttar Pradesh, and the electrifying Garba of Gujarat. Each presentation was a seamless amalgamation of authentic music, resounding folk instruments, and intricate rhythmic footwork.
The ceremony also felicitated academic and co-curricular achievers of the session, with the Chief Guest conferring awards to meritorious students. The Director, Reema Dewan, in her address, commended the students for their diligence and artistic finesse, stating that such platforms nurture cultural consciousness alongside scholastic excellence.
The programme culminated with a standing ovation, leaving the audience with an indelible imprint of India’s vibrant folk legacy. ‘Jhankaar’ truly stood as a testament to the school’s commitment to holistic education — where tradition and talent take flight together.
