DPS Chandigarh Celebrates CBSE Reading Month 2026
In its continued endeavour to nurture a vibrant reading culture and foster creativity among students, DPS Chandigarh enthusiastically observed the CBSE Reading Month 2026 by organising a series of engaging activities from July 9-15 in the premises.
Chandigarh, July 15, 2026: In its continued endeavour to nurture a vibrant reading culture and foster creativity among students, DPS Chandigarh enthusiastically observed the CBSE Reading Month 2026 by organising a series of engaging activities from July 9-15 in the premises.
The initiative aims to cultivate a lifelong love for reading, enhance communication skills, stimulate imagination and inspire students to become thoughtful and responsible readers.
Class III students enthusiastically took part in the Read-a-Thon, showcasing their reading fluency and enthusiasm for books. Classes IV, V and VI expressed their thoughts through Poem Recitation in Hindi or English on the themes Books and Importance of Reading, highlighting the transformative power of reading in everyday life. Classes VII and VIII demonstrated their artistic talent through a Poster Making Competition on the socially relevant theme “Say No to Drugs,” effectively combining creativity with awareness and responsible citizenship.
The Director Reema Dewan expressed that the Reading Month celebrations reflected the school’s commitment to the CBSE’s vision of promoting reading as a joyful and meaningful habit while nurturing informed, compassionate and socially aware learners. The principal Ms Pawan Singh appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students who made the initiative a resounding success, reinforcing the message that ‘Readers Today Become Leaders Tomorrow.’
