Rohtak, October 6, 2026: Patients developing new or unusual symptoms after taking medicines should immediately consult their doctor or report the suspected adverse drug reaction to the Adverse Drug Reaction Centre helpline 1800 180 3024, said Dr Jyoti Kaushal, Head, Department of Pharmacology, PGIMS.
She was addressing doctors and students at the concluding function of Pharmacovigilance Week at Lecture Theatre-5. The week, observed from September 17 to 23, aimed at promoting awareness about safe medication use and adverse drug reaction reporting.
Director-cum-Dean Dr Ashok Chauhan, the chief guest, said reporting drug-related side effects was an ethical responsibility and crucial for patient safety.
Organising Secretary Dr Jyoti Sharma said nearly 100 students participated in interactive lectures, e-poster, essay-writing and Instagram reel competitions. The activities were aimed at sensitising undergraduate and postgraduate students of nursing, pharmacy and other disciplines. Winners were felicitated at the concluding ceremony.
