Jalandhar, April 1, 2024: Documentary film “Spectacular Hola Mohalla 2024” was today released with special preview at Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar.  

Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh along with the faculty members released the significant documentary portraying traditional colourful festival of Hola Mohalla featuring live Sikh Martial Art skills performed by Nihangs at Sri Anandpur Sahib, captured through the perspective eye of camera lens by Punjab’s eminent Nature Artist & Heritage Promoter and alumni of the college S. Harpreet Sandhu. The documentary beautifully portrays the colossal traditional Festival – Hola Mohalla which fosters sense of community and also serves as a reminder of Sikh heritage and spirit of eternal optimism (Chardi kala) amidst challenges and aims to honour the spirit of brotherhood. The documentary serves as reminder of the core principles of Sikhism which include courage, selflessness and readiness to defend the oppressed. 

Principal Lyallpur Khalsa College Dr Jaspal Singh while releasing the documentary acknowledged the dedicated efforts of Harpreet Sandhu for compiling such a thoughtful documentary which will be of immense interest not only for the faculty and students of Lyallpur Khalsa College but also for the people of Punjab. He added that traditional Festival – Hola Mohalla was established by Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, to promote the martial skills of self courage and bravery. Nature Artist and Film maker Harpreet Sandhu said that he has compiled the Documentary with aim to promote the Heritage and Culture of Punjab’s biggest festival of Hola Mohalla as our heritage is our legacy from the past what we live with today that we can passion to our future generations.  

Principal Dr. Jaspal Singh, along with Nature Artist, Harpreet Sandhu and Indy Sandhu from UK, also unveiled the pictorial work depicting Historical Gurdwara Takhat Sri Kesgarh Sahib Anandpur Sahib. 

During this program, Vice Principal Prof. Jasreen Kaur, Prof Navdeep Kaur, Dr. Suman Chopra, Dr. Raju Sharma, Dr. Manpreet Singh Lehal, Dr. Karanbir Singh, Prof. Satpal Singh and teachers of different departments and students were present in great number.
