Doaba College organizes Seminar on Cancer Awareness

Jalandhar, February 14, 2022: Health and Well Being Committee of Doaba College Jalandhar organized an online Seminar on  Cancer Awareness  in collaboration with Patel Hospital  for teachers and their families . Dr. Anubha Bharthuar, Oncologist -Patel Hospital Jalandhar graced the occasion as a resource person for the event. She was given a hearty welcome by  principal Dr. Pardeep Bhandari, Faculty members and participants.
Welcoming the speaker Dr. Pradeep Bhandari explained the importance of  Awareness on Cancer and expressed gratitude to the resource person who is working for the welfare of the society by removing the misconceptions spread in society about Cancer. Dr. Anubha enlightened everyone about the types of cancers such as Head and Neck Cancer, Lung Cancer, Gastrointestinal  Cancer,  Stomach Cancer,  Prostrate Cancer, Skin Cancer,  Breast Cancer and Utrerine Cancer.  She further explained the various risk factors involved in these Cancers.She also threw light on the possible causes of this disease such as alcohol, smoking, tobacco, infections, obesity,  changing lifestyle etc. She explained the various symptoms of different kinds of Cancers and their possible treatments based upon on early detection such as surgery, chemotherapy, hormone therapy etc. She further explained the prevention strategies like pap smear, screening,  vaccination and adopting a healthy diet and lifestyle. Prof. Priya moderated the the event. Finally,  Prof. Garima Chodha presented the vote of Thanks.
