Jalandhar, January 19, 2017: BBC News Team organised interaction session with 150 MAJMC and BAJMC students of PG Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of Doaba College Jalandhar.
Rupa Jha - Head Indian Languages -BBC New Delhi graced the occasion as key speaker and Niveditta -HR BBC as guest of honour.
The dignitaries were accorded a hearty welcome by Principal Dr Naresh Kumar Dhiman , Head-Dr Simran Sidhu staff and students. Rupa Jha apprised the august gathering about the launch of online BBC Punjabi in the country. She said the main motive of BBC is to target and cover the global Punjabi populace and rural population in their own regional language so as to keep them abreast about various happenings in world.She said online BBC Punjabi would create and provide numerous job avenues viz script writer, editors, translators and reporters for the journalism students of the region.
