“DMC&H School Health Initiative” organised

Ludhiana, April 26, 2023: Dayanand Medical College and Hospital, in collaboration with the and the Bharti Foundation, organised the "DMC&H School Health Initiative" for teachers of non-funded private schools.

Dr. Bishav Mohan, Medical Superintendent of Hero DMCH Heart Institute, organised this programme.

The goal of this programme is to educate teacher volunteers about the ailments and issues that kids might experience so that a significant health condition can be discovered early. Volunteer instructors from 43 Ludhiana schools took part in the programme. These instructors can also train and sensitise their colleagues.

According to Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, teachers have a significant effect on the lives of their students, and this programme will assist teachers in becoming more efficient in diagnosing any underlying issues that may afflict their pupils.

The programme included doctors from several departments. Dr Anurag Chaudhary, Head, Dept of SPM, presented a "Innovative School Health Model", Dr Atul Mishra, Dept of Surgery, presented on the topic, "First Aid in Injuries", Dr Ashima Taneja, Head, Dept of Obst & Gynae, sensitised the teachers "Menstrual Health" of adolescent girls, Dr Rajinder Bansal, Dept of Neurology, presented on "First Aid in Seizures", Dr. Vandana Middha of the Department of Medicine spoke about "Fatty Liver: A New Epidemic," Dr. Gursabeen Kaur raised awareness about "Dyslexia Quotient," and Dr. Vivek Gupta, Dr. Gurkirat, Dr. Tanveer Singh, and Dr. Kamakshi provided training in basic life support. This was a collaborative effort.

The teachers participated in the workshop and asked questions during this interactive session. DMC&H hopes to raise public awareness and impart fundamental life support skills through these programmes.
