DMCH ranked 14th by National Institutional Ranking Framework

Ludhiana, April 4, 2018: In a major boost to the already-existing fame and glory of Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMCH), the institution has been ranked 14th by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) for the year 2018, said Secretary of DMCH Managing Society-Sh Prem Kumar Gupta. DMCH is the only medical institution from the State of Punjab to be ranked among top 25 in the aforesaid ranking.

Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMCH) is fifty years old premier medical college and hospital of the region. In recent times, DMCH is being ranked among the top private medical colleges and multi specialty hospital of the country by various organizations. Earlier, the survey conducted by ‘The Week’ magazine ranked DMCH as Best Private Medical College in North Zone, 7th Best Private Medical College in the country, 23rd best medical college in the country.

Now as per the ranking released by The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF), DMCH is ranked as 14th medical college in the country for the year 2018. Ministry of Human Resources, Government of India uses a very stringent methodology to rank institutions of higher education in India. The methodology is based on identifying various parameters set up by the Core Committee of MHRD in ranking various universities and institutions, and these include “Teaching, Learning and Resources,” “Research and Professional Practices,” “Graduation Outcomes,” “Outreach and Inclusivity,” and “Perception”

It is matter of pride for the State of Punjab that DMCH has made it to the elite list of top ranking private medical institutions of the country, said Mr Gupta .

Secretary of DMCH Managing Society-Sh Prem Kumar Gupta attributed the success to the great support being given by Government of Punjab and administration, and also congratulated the members of DMCH Managing Society, faculty members, administrators and all para-medical staff of the institution for their collective contribution in bringing the institution to the glory of fame and success.

The first three institutes in the list include AIIMS, Delhi, PGIMER, Chandigarh and CMC, Vellore.
