DMC&H launches more than ₹6 Crore scholarship/award policy to promote academic excellence and support deserving students
DMC&H today launched its comprehensive Scholarship Policy for the Academic Year 2026–27 at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU)
Ludhiana, August 17, 2026: DMC&H today launched its comprehensive Scholarship Policy for the Academic Year 2026–27 at Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), in the presence of S. S. Gosal, Vice Chancellor, PAU and Chairman, DMC&H Scholarship Committee along with Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society; Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society and Convener DMC&H Scholarship Committee ; Dr. G.S. Wander, Principal, DMC&H; Dr. Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics and Special Advisor of Scholarship Committee and Dr. Ashima Taneja, Additional Medical Superintendent and other dignitaries and members of the institution.
The scholarship programme, with a total value more than of ₹6 crore, is aimed at providing financial support and encouraging academic excellence among deserving students across various disciplines, including MBBS, Nursing, Allied & Health Sciences and Physiotherapy. The policy has been designed to promote merit, support students based on need and recognise outstanding academic and overall performance.
Giving information about the policy Bipin Gupta explained that under the policy, scholarships are offered through various categories, including merit-based, means-based, ward of defence personnels , single girl child, annual merit and sports awards. The policy includes full and partial scholarships including hostel charges (MBBS, Nursing, Allied, Physiotherapy and healthcare programmes.
Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society and Convener DMC&H Scholarship Committee highlighted that through this scholarship policy, we want to ensure that deserving students receive the support they need to continue their education. It will also encourage students to work hard and achieve excellence in their chosen fields.”
Dr. G. S. Wander, Principal, DMC&H, said, “This scholarship policy will encourage students to work hard, perform well and achieve their goals. It is our effort to support deserving students and provide them with better opportunities for their education.”
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sandeep Kaushal stated that the policy also seeks to recognise and reward students who demonstrate dedication, academic excellence and outstanding performance, while encouraging students to contribute positively to the institution and society. Existing students are eligible for annual merit awards, while sports awards recognise all-round performance.
The scholarship policy has been structured to ensure a fair, transparent and merit-based process, with the Scholarship Committee overseeing the implementation and review of the programme. The Committee is chaired by S. S. Gosal, Vice Chancellor, PAU, with representation from academia, administration, industry and DMC&H. He appreciated the initiative of DMC&H to support one of its kind support for deserving students.
