DMC&H Launches Free Antenatal Wellness and Lactation Support Clinics to Strengthen Maternal and Newborn Care
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at DMC&H, Ludhiana, has launched two essential services to support women through pregnancy and early motherhood—the Antenatal Wellness Clinic and the Lactation Support Clinic. These services are being offered free of charge in both the General OPD and Evening OPD.

Ludhiana, August 2, 2025: The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at DMC&H, Ludhiana, has launched two essential services to support women through pregnancy and early motherhood—the Antenatal Wellness Clinic and the Lactation Support Clinic. These services are being offered free of charge in both the General OPD and Evening OPD.
The Antenatal Wellness Clinic will provide comprehensive care, including routine check-ups, nutrition, lifestyle counselling and emotional support from early pregnancy to the postpartum period. The Lactation Support Clinic offers personalized guidance to mothers on breastfeeding techniques, latching difficulties, addressing breast discomfort and enhancing maternal confidence.
Both the clinics were inaugurated by Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society and Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society. Also present were Dr. G.S. Wander, Principal; Dr. Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics; Dr. Sandeep Sharma, Medical Superintendent; Dr. Ashima Taneja, Additional Medcial Superintendent; Dr. Puneet A. Pooni, Professor and Head of Pediatrics; Dr. B.P. Mishra, Professor and Head of Clinical Psychology along with the support of other faculty members of Obstetrics & Gynaecology including Dr Suman Puri, Dr Sunil Juneja, Dr Muskan Chaudhary, Dr Surbhi Handa and Dr Sukriti Gupta.
Speaking on the occasion, Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, stated that DMC&H is dedicated to provide excellent healthcare services. These new clinics ensure that every woman receives the necessary care during this critical phase of her life.
