Ludhiana, May 12, 2014: 7th World Congress on Pediatric Intensive and Critical Care, PICC 2014, was recently held in Istanbul, Turkey where experts in the field of Pediatric Critical Care from all over the world gather together and extensively discussed various aspects of pediatric critical care and presented the most recent research findings to promote and enhance scientific advancements in the concerned field.
According to Dr Deepak Bhat, Associate Professor and Dr Siddharth Bhargava, Assistant Professor from the Department of Pediatrics, the.aim of this congress was  to bring together physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, scientists, and policy leaders to promote and enhance programmatic collaborations to more effectively address regional, national and local responses to Pediatric Intensive and Critical Care around the world and overcome barriers that limit access to prevention, care and services  prevalent in developing countries like India. Both the doctors from DMCH presented their work done in the field of pediatric critical care, which was widely appreciated. Dr Deepak Bhat presented two research papers namely “Pseudomonas Stutzeri Septicemia in a Neonate” and Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome in a case of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever”. Dr Siddhart presented the paper “Hemolysis and Methemoglobinemia associated with Viral Hepatitis in a G-6-PD deficient patient”.
It was specially mentioned that Intensive Care Unit of DMCH is rendering world- class care to the critically ill kids from various parts of Punjab and the adjoining states.
More than 2000 delegates from all over the world attended this prestigious conference in the historical city of Istanbul.
