Ludhiana, June 5, 2023: DMCH, College of Nursing, Ludhiana observed the Menstrual Hygiene Day by organizing an awareness program on theme “Making menstruation a normal fact of life” recently at the college premises. 

The event was inaugurated with a lamp lighting ceremony. Savita, Assistant Professor extends a warm welcome to all the dignitaries present. Dr.Triza Jiwan, Principal shared her views on menstrual hygiene and emphasized that “it is our collective responsibility to ensure that every girl is equipped with accurate information on menstruation as a normal biological process. Educating girls on menstruation management builds their self-esteem and confidence.” Prof.  Nidhi Sagar, Vice Principal and HOD unfolded the theme of this year and said that Schools, workplaces and public institutions should ensure that girls can manage menstruation with comfort and dignity.
 
The students of B.Sc. Nursing 4th year enacted a role play on myths and facts related to menstrual problems. Various charts and display stations on ‘what girls need for good menstrual health’ were presented under the guidance of Mamta, Associate Professor and Neha Singla, Assistant Professor. Total 120 students of B.Sc. Nursing and M.Sc. Nursing 1st yr attended the programme. The event was concluded by vote of thanks proposed by Simranpal, Nursing Tutor.
