DMC&H Celebrates Scholarship Day
DMC&H celebrated Scholarship Day today at its college campus. DMC&H is proud to be the first medical college in India to run such a large scholarship programme, with worth ₹6 crore. This scholarship programme highlights the strong commitment to ethical practices and honours true hard work, stands at the core of the institution’s values.
Ludhiana, January 6, 2026: DMC&H celebrated Scholarship Day today at its college campus. DMC&H is proud to be the first medical college in India to run such a large scholarship programme, with worth ₹6 crore. This scholarship programme highlights the strong commitment to ethical practices and honours true hard work, stands at the core of the institution’s values.
During the event, scholarships and academic awards were presented to 33 students, including five Award winners. The recipients represented a range of disciplines, including MBBS, Nursing, Allied and Health Sciences. The programme aims to recognise and reward students who have demonstrated dedication and outstanding academic performance.
The event was graced by Satish Sanwlaka as the Chief Guest, along with his wife and son. Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society; Mukesh Verma, Treasurer; Rajnish Sanwalka, Archana Nagpal, Members DMC&H Managing Society; Dr. G.S. Wander, Principal; Dr. Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics and Dr. Ashima Taneja, Additional Medical Superintendent.
Satish C. Sanwalka, Chief Guest, appreciated DMC&H’s efforts and said that such initiatives encourage students and help build a strong future for healthcare in the country. He also announced a personal contribution of ₹10 lakh towards scholarships for students of Allied and Health Sciences.
Addressing the gathering, Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, said that the scholarship programme is an important milestone for the institution. He shared that DMC&H believes in giving back to society and supporting talented students. He emphasized that financial constraints should never become a barrier for deserving students in fulfilling their dreams. He also announced a personal contribution of ₹10 lakh towards scholarships for students of Allied and Health Sciences.
Welcoming the Chief Guest, Dr. G.S. Wander congratulated all the scholarship recipients. He said that the scholarships are a recognition of students’ hard work and academic excellence and will inspire first-year students and juniors to work harder and achieve their goals. He urged the students to use their knowledge and excellence with compassion for the benefit of the masses and patients. He also reminded them that they are fortunate to receive their education at a renowned medical institution like DMC&H.
Dr. Sandeep Kaushal announced the list of scholarship recipients and congratulated them on their remarkable academic performance. He lauded their consistent efforts and determination, stating that such achievements reflect discipline and a strong commitment to learning. He encouraged the students to make the best use of this opportunity and to uphold the values of excellence, ethics, and service in their future medical practice.
