DMC&H celebrates “Save the Planet” Initiative: Phase II

Ludhiana, October 13, 2025: Under the banner of the “Save the Planet” initiative: Phase II an event was organized on Monday, at Dumra Auditorium by DMC&H.
The chief guest for the occasion was Himanshu Jain, Deputy Commissioner, Ludhiana. The event was also  graced by Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society; Principal Dr. G.S. Wander; Dean Academics Dr. Sandeep Kaushal; Chief Cardiologist and Coordinator Dr Bishav Mohan; Medical Superintendent Dr. Ashwani K. Chaudhary  and Additional Medical Superintendent Dr. Ashima Taneja. The event was graced by Rama Munjal from the management, principals of various schools, and Sarpanches from across Ludhiana.
In his message, Bipin Gupta congratulated all the faculty members, students club members and teams for their dedicated efforts in tree plantation and encouraged the audience to actively participate in this noble initiative. The initiative was launched in June, coinciding with World Environment Day and has successfully planted over 2 lakhs trees so far further Gupta announced a target of planting 10 lakh trees by next year. DMC&H has been recognized by the International Book of Records for achieving the maximum number of tree plantations by a single medical institute.
In his welcome address, Dr. G. S. Wander warmly welcomed all dignitaries and highlighted the motive behind the Save the Planet initiative. He emphasized the spirit of teamwork and unity that helped achieve the remarkable target of planting two lakh trees in a short span of time, and congratulated all the teams for their dedicated efforts in tree plantation.
The DC Himanshu Jain, during his address commended the DM&CH team for their strong commitment and tireless efforts towards environmental conservation. He assured that the Ludhiana Administration will provide full support to such noble initiatives in the future, including allocating suitable land for plantation drives and will supply the saplings/trees to further enhance the greenery and environmental sustainability of the region.
The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ashima Taneja. As part of the ceremony, Save the Planet’ awards worth ₹1 lakh were distributed to recognize those who achieved the maximum number of plantations.
Event was attendant by more than 500 participants including DMC&H faculty members, staff members, paramedical personnel, and MBBS students.
