DMC&H Celebrates International Nurses Day 2026
Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMC&H), Ludhiana, celebrated International Nurses Day with great enthusiasm and gratitude, acknowledging the invaluable contribution of nurses towards patient care and healthcare services. This year theme was Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives. On this occasion a Blood Donation Camp was also organized.
Ludhiana, May 12, 2026: Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMC&H), Ludhiana, celebrated International Nurses Day with great enthusiasm and gratitude, acknowledging the invaluable contribution of nurses towards patient care and healthcare services. This year theme was Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives. On this occasion a Blood Donation Camp was also organized.
The event commenced with a traditional lamp lighting ceremony symbolizing knowledge, compassion, and dedication towards humanity. The celebration was graced by the Chief Guest, Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society. Other dignitaries present on the occasion included Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society; Principal Dr. G.S. Wander; Dean Academics Dr. Sandeep Kaushal; Medical Superintendent Dr. Sandeep Sharma; and Dr. Ashwani K. Chaudhary, Dr Ashima Taneja, Additional Medical Superintendent, Anit Joseph (Deputy Nursing Superintendent) along with the Nursing staff from HDHI, DMC&H Cancer Care Centre and DMC&H College of Nursing also graced the occasion.
The welcome address was delivered by the Dr. Jayasudha A., Principal, College of Nursing, who also unfolded the theme for International Nurses Day. While congratulating all nurses, she highlighted that nurses are the heartbeat of healthcare and their compassion, dedication, and commitment form the backbone of every healthcare institution.
Addressing the gathering, Bipin Gupta appreciated the relentless service and commitment of the nursing fraternity. He said, “Nurses play a vital role in patient care and recovery. Their dedication, compassion, and selfless service make them the true pillars of the healthcare system.”
Principal Dr. G.S. Wander also congratulated the nurses and stated, “The contribution of nurses towards patient care is beyond words. Their professionalism, empathy, and tireless efforts ensure quality healthcare delivery and inspire the entire medical fraternity.”
The programme included various cultural activities and performances by the nursing students, making the celebration memorable and vibrant. The event concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all the dignitaries, faculty members, nurses, and students for their participation and support.
During the event, Best Wards and Best Nurses were selected across the hospital and were honoured with awards in recognition of their outstanding service, dedication, and commitment towards patient care.
