DMC&H celebrated International Nurses Day
DMC&H celebrated International Nurses Day with great enthusiasm through a joint event collaboratively hosted by the Department of Nursing from Hero DMC Heart Institute (HDHI), DMC&H Cancer Care Centre, and DMC&H College of Nursing. The celebration honoured the relentless dedication, compassion and service of the nursing staff who are backbone of patient care.

Ludhiana, May 12, 2025: DMC&H celebrated International Nurses Day with great enthusiasm through a joint event collaboratively hosted by the Department of Nursing from Hero DMC Heart Institute (HDHI), DMC&H Cancer Care Centre, and DMC&H College of Nursing. The celebration honoured the relentless dedication, compassion and service of the nursing staff who are backbone of patient care.
The program was graced by esteemed dignitaries including Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society; Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society; Dr. G.S. Wander, Principal, DMC&H; Dr. Ashwani K. Chaudhary and Dr. Sandeep Sharma, Medical Superintendents; Dr. Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics and Anit Joseph, Deputy Nursing Supdt. DMC&H. Nursing staff from HDHI, DMC&H Cancer Care Centre and DMC&H College of Nursing also graced the occasion.
The theme for this year’s is ‘Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for nurses strengthens economies’ was unfolded by Bibin, Incharge VRS OT.
In his address, Bipin Gupta emphasized the pivotal role of nurses in a hospital and he extended his heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to all nurses for their continuous efforts in providing exceptional care to patients.
Principal Dr. G.S. Wander, in his remarks, highlighted the 2025 theme of International Nurses Day and acknowledged the courage of nurses who balance demanding professional duties with their personal lives.
A special highlight of the celebration was the Best Ward Award, which recognized excellence in teamwork, hygiene, patient care, documentation, and other key parameters. First five prizes were awarded to the following departments: Urology, Neurosurgery 1, Pediatrics, Medical Unit 2, and Oncology Medicine.
The celebration also featured a vibrant cultural program, where nurses showcased their talents through dance, music, and skits, reflecting their multifaceted personalities beyond their professional roles.
Anit Joseph, Deputy Nursing Superintendent, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing heartfelt gratitude to all participants and the hospital leadership for their support in making the event a success.
The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony recognizing Sister In-charges for their outstanding service in their respective wards—a gesture of appreciation for their leadership and dedication.
