NTH 90 Bulls wins DLF Gardencity Cricket tournament

Gurugram: Keeping the spirit of cricket season alive, DLF Gardencity hosted atwo-day cricket extravaganza on the weekend. DLF Gardencity Cricket Tournament,held in Sector 86, Gurugram, saw enthusiastic participation from residents of all age groups. Spectators turned up in large numbers to cheer for their favorite team.

A fierce competition was witnessed amongst six teams namely NTH 86 Eagles, Drug Runners 86, NTH 90 Young Bulls, NTH 91 Warriors, NTH 91 Juniors and NTH 90 Bulls. NTH 90 Bulls emerged victorious in a closely contested 15-over final match against NTH 86 Eagles. NTH 86 Eagles had earlier set a target of 148 runs in 15 overs which NTH 90 Bulls achieved in the last over.

“Winning the tournament was definitely a pleasant surprise. Our opponent, NTH86 Eagles gave us a tough competition during the final match. I would like to give credit to my entire team for clinching the cup,” said Ravi Batish, captain of NTH 90 Bulls.

The final match comprised 15 overs as against rest of the matches which consisted of 10 overs.

Prateek Jeet Singh was adjudged as the ‘Best Player of the Tournament’ for his scintillating performance. He smashed one century and two fifties while remaining ‘not out’ in three matches.

“Cricket inculcates a spirit of discipline and camaraderie among players. We are glad that the tournament was well-received and witnessed a huge turnout which added to the excitement. Sports events like these offer a platform for the residents to spend quality time with their families and interact with each other” said Mr. Harinder Dhillon, VP-Sales, DLF.
