District Magistrate ordered magisterial inquiry of Chakki rail Bridge
The District Magistrate-cum- DC Kangra Dr Nipun Jindal have ordered an magisterial inquiry into the cause of the collapse of the Railway bridge over the Chakki river in tehsil Nurpur District Kangra on 20th August 2022.

Dharamsala, August 21, 2022: The District Magistrate-cum- DC Kangra Dr Nipun Jindal have ordered an magisterial inquiry into the cause of the collapse of the Railway bridge over the Chakki river in tehsil Nurpur District Kangra on 20th August 2022.
In his order of 21st August, Dr Jindal appointed Rohit Rathore Additional District Magistrate of Kangra to hold inquiry into the cause of this incident and to submit a detailed inquiry report within 15 days to him.
The collapse of the said bridge of Saturday resulted in a cut off the Pathankote-Joginder Nagar rail traffic of this narrow gauge line.
With this, the narrow-gauge train service between Pathankot and Jogindernagar will remain suspended till a new pillar of the bridge is constructed. Daily seven trains used to run between Pathankot and Jogindernagar on this narrow gauge rail line, which was constructed and commissioned by the British government in 1928.
