District Ludhiana wins 3 National Panchayat Awards

Ludhiana, April 21, 2022: District Ludhiana has bagged 3 National Panchayat Awards 2022 announced by the Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj for improving delivery of services and public goods, outstanding contribution to socio-economic development and adopting child-friendly practices.

Under the Den Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar (DDUPSP), block panchayat Machhiwara and gram panchayat of village Rohle has won the national award, while Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar (NRGGSP) has been awarded to gram panchayat of village Chehlan.

Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana Surabhi Malik specially congratulated ADC (Rural Development) Amit Kumar Panchal, officials and all stakeholders for winning these national awards. She said that it was materialized only because of the team work of officials and all stakeholders.

Amit Kumar Panchal informed that on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day on April 24, 2022, a function is being organised at Gram Panchayat Pali, District Samba in Jammu & Kashmir, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi would be the chief guest. He said that all the gram panchayats would join this function through web casting and even the awards would be presented online.
