District Administration Jalandhar Organizes “Daudda Punjab” to Promote Drug-Free Society, in Collaboration with CT Group

Jalandhar, April 27, 2025: The District Administration Jalandhar, in collaboration with CT Group, Lovely Bake Studio, Thind Eye Hospital, and Radio Mirchi, successfully organized the spirited community-run “Daudda Punjab" under the theme “Yudh Nashian Virudh” (War Against Drugs). The event emerged as a powerful symbol of Punjab’s united stand against drug abuse, inspiring citizens from all walks of life to participate in the movement toward a healthier and drug-free future.

More than 6,000 citizens, including students, professionals, athletes, and members of various community groups, gathered at Shri Guru Gobind Singh Stadium, Jalandhar, where the run was flagged off. More than 6,500 people were present for the oath ceremony, pledging to make Punjab drug-free by abstaining from drugs and supporting those struggling with addiction. Around 6,000 participants then participated in the various runs, competing across three categories—3 kilometres, 5 kilometres, and 7 kilometres—each runner symbolizing a step toward a drug-free Punjab. The vibrant atmosphere and collective spirit showcased the community’s resolve to overcome the menace of drug addiction.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal, Commissioner of Police Dhanpreet Kaur,  and ADC Aparna, who praised the massive turnout and the dedication of the participants. Representing CT Group, Chairman Charanjit Singh Channi, Managing Director Dr. Manbir Singh, and Vice-Chairman Harpreet Singh added to the event’s spirit, emphasizing the role of educational and business communities in social transformation.

Exceptional performances were witnessed across all race categories. In the 3 km Boys’ category, Anmol Singh claimed first place, followed by Hans Raj and Gautam Mehta. In the 3 km Girls’ category, Suman from CT Group of Institutions, Shahpur Campus, secured the first position, with Anuradha and Darshika placing second and third respectively. In the 5 km Boys’ category, Jobanpreet Singh secured the top spot, followed by Rajveer Singh and Akhil Kumar. In the 7 km Girls’ race, Kajal stood first, while among the 7 km Boys, Shubham emerged victorious, with Ankit and Raghavjeet following.

Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner Dr Himanshu Aggarwal, said, “Initiatives like ‘Daudda Punjab" reflect the collective strength of our community. When the administration, institutions, and youth work together, transformation becomes inevitable. Today’s run sends out a strong message that Punjab is determined to break free from the chains of drug addiction and run toward a brighter future.”
