DISTRICT ADMINISTRATION INITIATES MAMMOTH SCREENING EXERCISE OF PEOPLE RETURNING FROM OTHER STATES

Ferozepur: Giving further impetus to its commitment to contain the Covid-19 pandemic in the Ferozepur, the district administration has initiated a massive screening drive of people who were returning from the other states.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner Ferozepur Kulwant Singh said that with the special efforts of Punjab government, a large number of people across Punjab who were stranded in other states, being brought back to their home districts.
The deputy commissioner said that as a result of these efforts, a large number of pilgrims from Nander Sahib (Maharashtra) arrived at Ferozepur district and were quarantined at the various state quarantine facilities as a part of medical protocol fixed by the state government.
Similarly, people stranded in Kota, Jaisalmer, and Rohtak districts were also coming back to Ferozepur district in the special buses arranged by the state government, he added.
The DC said that as per the directions issued by the state government, these people were being thoroughly screened by the health department as special teams were taking their swab samples for the Covid-19 test.
The DC added that these returnees were placed under quarantine at the state quarantine facilities set up by the district administration at various locations in Ferozepur adding that quarantined people were being provided with the three-times meals besides other daily needs.
Meanwhile SDM Ferozepur Mr. Amit Gupta said that he was personally monitoring the screening and quarantining procedure as it was imperative to quarantine people coming outside Punjab to contain this disease from further spread. 
He said that a team of officials was working round the clock to ensure the screening and quarantining of every person coming to Ferozepur district from other states. “the district administration would leave no stone unturned to safe the Ferozepurians from the Covid-19 pandemic besides solicited people's support in these hours of crisis”, said SDM Amit Gupta
