Digital platforms like 'Yuktdhara' play a pivotal role in empowering Gram Panchayats: HIRD Director Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan

Nilokheri, June 22, 2026: The use of GIS-based technologies is the need of the hour for the effective monitoring of development works in Gram Panchayats and the scientific management of resources. Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, Director of the Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD), expressed these views while addressing participants online during a training program focused on 'Yuktdhara'. He stated that digital platforms like Yuktdhara are playing a crucial role in empowering Gram Panchayats and making development schemes more transparent and result-oriented.

HIRD Director Dr. Chauhan remarked that such technologies would further accelerate the pace of development in rural areas, helping to realize the Prime Minister's vision of a 'Digital India'. He urged the participants to apply the knowledge gained during the training in practice and give a new direction to rural development.

While presenting the outline of the training, Program Coordinator Kamaldeep Sangwan explained that participants would be provided with practical information regarding GIS-based planning, mapping of natural resources, and the effective use of the Yuktdhara portal.

During the session, expert Anil Kumar from NIRDPR, Hyderabad, provided detailed information on the various technical aspects of the Yuktdhara portal. He trained the participants on how to ensure better implementation and monitoring of Gram Panchayat schemes using the portal. Participants present at the program included JE Rahul and JE Jaiprakash from Nuh; Additional Block Program Officers Mahesh Kumar and Naresh Kumar from Panipat; and Additional Block Program Officer Sandeep Kumar from Israna, among others.
