Dhussi Bandh strengthened in Bholewal Jadid

Ludhiana, Sep 7, 2025: After the soil eroded from Dhussi Bandh near the Seed Farm in Bholewal Jadid, the teams led by SDM Dr. Poonam Preet Kaur immediately addressed and strengthened the Bandh.
The strengthening work was promptly carried out with the cooperation of Tehsildars, Sub-Registrars, employees of the Revenue (Ludhiana West and Central), Irrigation, Drainage, Forest departments, Block Development and Panchayat Officers, and local villagers, despite heavy rainfall. Additionally, life jackets were distributed to the residents of Bholewal Jadid and special efforts are being made to provide healthcare services to flood-affected individuals in the village.
SDM stated that various teams of the administration are actively engaged in relief operations. She noted that ongoing efforts to strengthen embankments using JCB machines are underway not only in Bholewal Jadid but also in Khaira Bet and Alowal. She reassured the public that there is no need to panic, as the administration is closely monitoring the situation and remains fully committed to serving the community. She urged residents not to worry, emphasizing that the administration is taking concrete steps to ensure a safe environment.
Kaur affirmed that the district administration is making every possible effort to reinforce the embankment. She also mentioned that a survey would be conducted to assess the damage to crops, homes, and livestock caused by heavy rainfall across the state. She reiterated the state government’s commitment to safeguarding the interests of people affected by heavy rains.
