Dharamshala rain cancels practice session

Dharamshala, March 3, 2024: In a recent update from the picturesque hill station of Dharamshala, both the Indian and English cricket teams' practice sessions scheduled for tomorrow have been cancelled due to ongoing rain.

The inclement weather, which has persisted for the past few days, has temporarily halted preparations for the highly anticipated fifth Test of the current Indo-English series. However, in a turn of positive news, the State Weather Warning Bulletin for Himachal Pradesh has forecasted an end to the rainfall from March 4, raising hopes for uninterrupted play throughout the upcoming match. The match, set to take place at the scenic Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium from March 7 to March 11, is crucial for both teams, especially with the series already clinched in favour of the hosts. India, having secured 3 victories in the 4 matches played so far, looks to dominate the series by extending their lead to 4-1 against England.

Both teams arrived in Dharamshala from Chandigarh on Sunday morning under tight security and checked into the Hotel Radisson Blu in the Kandi area, close to the stadium. This forthcoming match marks only the second Test to be held at the Dharamshala Cricket Stadium, the first being a memorable win for India against Australia in March 2017, where India triumphed by 8 wickets and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja was named Player of the Match.

As fans eagerly await the start of the match, the clear weather forecast brings a sigh of relief and anticipation for what promises to be an exciting conclusion to the series.
