Dharamshala Hospital Receive Kayakalp Award for Excellence in Healthcare
The Health and Family Welfare Department, Kangra, organized the Kayakalp Samman Ceremony at the Regional Hospital Dharamshala on Wednesday, where the Dharamshala Zonal Hospital and Palampur Hospital were felicitated for winning the prestigious Kayakalp Award from the Government of India. The event was presided over by Kangra–Chamba MP Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj.

Dharamshala, October 01, 2025: The Health and Family Welfare Department, Kangra, organized the Kayakalp Samman Ceremony at the Regional Hospital Dharamshala on Wednesday, where the Dharamshala Zonal Hospital and Palampur Hospital were felicitated for winning the prestigious Kayakalp Award from the Government of India. The event was presided over by Kangra–Chamba MP Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Bhardwaj said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country’s healthcare infrastructure is witnessing rapid strengthening. He added that it is a matter of pride for Himachal Pradesh that Jagat Prakash Nadda, the Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, is steering the sector towards new heights.
Highlighting the impact of central government initiatives such as Ayushman Bharat and e-Sanjeevani, the MP said these schemes are ensuring access to modern healthcare facilities even for the most underprivileged sections of society, thereby bringing about a significant positive transformation.
Praising the efficient functioning of the Kangra Health and Family Welfare Department, Dr. Bhardwaj lauded the dedication of doctors and paramedical staff, describing them as “gods who serve humanity tirelessly, day and night.” He also drew attention to Prime Minister Modi’s slogan, “Healthy Women, Strong Families,” emphasizing that the health of women is directly linked to the health and prosperity of the nation.
The ceremony was attended by Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vivek Kumar Karol, District Health Officer Dr. Rajesh Sood, Medical Superintendent Dr. Anuradha Sharma, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Sunil Bhatt, Dr. Uday, along with other senior officials of the Health Department.
