DG rewards BSF squad for its successful operation in Ferozpur sector

Jalandhar, January 15, 2014: Congratulating BSF squad, for conducting a successful operation, in which troops killed a Pakistani smuggler after a brief encounter and seized 9 packets of Heroin along with arms and ammunition, on the night of December 3 in Ferozepur Sector, Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) Subhash Joshi has rewarded the team by giving Rs.1 lakh for the achievement, Punjab frontier IG said.
“Director General of Border Security Force (BSF) Subhash Joshi has rewarded the BSF team with One Lakh rupees for conducting the successful operation in last month in Ferozepur Sector in which Jawans killed a Pakistani smuggler after a brief gun fight and seized about 9 KG of Heroin, along with 2 pistols, 15 rounds of ammunition and 3 mobile phones”, said the Inspector General of Punjab Frontier of the force Ajay Kumar Tomar told here late last evening.
“The DG is on a two-day visit to Punjab Frontier and visited Ferozepur Sector”, he said. He addressed a Sainik Sammelan in Ferozpur and listened to the problems being faced by troops. He assured them that their problems will be looked into sympathetically”, Tomar added.
DIG, Ferozepur Sector, Ravi Joseph Lokku briefed him about various Operational and Administrative activities that are being under taken in the Sector.
