Devotees gather at the annual fair on Ashtami in memory of Baba Mastnath; Circle Kabaddi centre of attraction
On the second day of the three-day annual fair held at the Baba Mastnath Math located in Asthal Bohar in the memory of Siddha Shiromani Baba Mastnath, a unique confluence of devotion, enthusiasm and tradition was witnessed on Ashtami.
Rohtak, February 24, 2026: On the second day of the three-day annual fair held at the Baba Mastnath Math located in Asthal Bohar in the memory of Siddha Shiromani Baba Mastnath, a unique confluence of devotion, enthusiasm and tradition was witnessed on Ashtami.
On the occasion of Ashtami, long queues of devotees continued till the Samadhi of Baba Mastnath in the morning. Devotees who arrived from nearby states including Haryana bowed their heads and prayed for happiness, peace and prosperity.
The main attraction of the second day of the fair was the Circle Kabaddi competition being organized for the first time. Eight teams participated in this competition organized with the aim of promoting rural sports traditions. In a very exciting competition, the team of Bahu Akbarpur won the first position and the team of Gaddi Khedi was the runner-up. The winning team was given prize money of Rs 1 lakh and the runner-up was given a prize money of Rs 71 thousand. The title of Best Raider was given to Pankaj Berry and Best Catcher was awarded to Ankur with an amount of Rs 31,000 each. Shilu Balhara, recognized as India's best catcher, was given a special honour.
During the devotional evening organized in the evening, devotees were seen singing the glory of Baba. There was a lot of excitement at the shops in the fair and crowds of people were seen buying traditional clothes, religious items, prasad, toys, jewelry and decorative items.
On the Tuesday, many public representatives from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana including Maman Singh former MLA Tijara, Satpal Singh Tomar former Rajya Sabha MP Baghpat, Hansraj Ahir former Minister of State for Home, Subhash Meel MLA Khandela Rajasthan, Raju Das Maharaj Hanumangarhi Ayodhya, Chintai Nath Maharaj Koth Kalan Peer and General Secretary Nath Samaj reached the Math and took blessings at the Samadhi of Baba Mastnath.
According to the tradition of the Nath sect, Mahant Balaknath Yogi appeared and blessed the devotees in the form of Baba Mastnath. There was a crowd of devotees throughout the day for his darshan. It is believed that by offering jaggery and a blanket in the monastery on the day of Ashtami and Navami, wishes are fulfilled. Before the puja, the saints and mahants performed the rituals by sprinkling ashes on Baba's Dhuni.
A wrestling match will be organized on the last day of the fair, in which famous wrestlers from across the country will participate. First prize is Rs 1,51,000, second is Rs 1,00,000, third is Rs 51,000 and fourth is Rs 31,000. Apart from this, incentive prizes will also be given.
