Deteriorating Law and Order in Punjab a Matter of Grave Concern: Rajnish Dhiman

Ludhiana, November 1, 2025: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) District President Rajnish Dhiman, while addressing a meeting, said that ever since the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government came to power in Punjab, the law and order situation has completely deteriorated. Yesterday, 26-year-old kabaddi player Tejpal Singh was shot dead in Jagraon. The incident occurred in broad daylight on Friday on Hari Singh Hospital Road. The assailants arrived in a car, beat up Tejpal first, and then shot him.
District President Dhiman said that industrialists, businessmen, and even political leaders are being targeted on a daily basis. The police have failed to rein in gangsters involved in gang wars and target killings. Lashing out at Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann over the failing law and order situation, Dhiman said that the people of Punjab had reposed their faith in the AAP government by electing them with a huge majority in the name of change. However, for the past three and a half years, the representatives of the AAP government have betrayed that trust.
“Today, the people of Punjab regret their decision and are forced to shed tears of blood. The daily incidents of robbery and murder have made citizens feel unsafe, while AAP leaders boast that law and order is under control,” he said.
He further added that Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann has left the state at God’s mercy and is busy pleasing Arvind Kejriwal. “Punjab’s condition is worse than it was in the 1990s, yet the Chief Minister seems unconcerned. He is busy promoting the AAP government’s false image in other states along with Kejriwal,” Dhiman said.
He demanded that if Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is unable to handle the state, he should resign on moral grounds. “The people of Punjab are eagerly waiting for 2027, when, just like Delhi, they will also oust the AAP government from Punjab,” he added.
The meeting was attended by District General Secretary Narendra Singh Malli, Yashpal Janotra, District Vice President Mahesh Sharma, Dr. Nirmal Nayyar, Manish Chopra, Joint Treasurer Atul Jain, Spokesperson Surinder Kaushal, and Legal Cell President K.G. Sharma.
