Detailed discussions on route plan for the grand Nagar Kirtan
MLAs Sarvjit Kaur Manuke, Madan Lal Bagga, Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal along with Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain and MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal on Sunday held detailed discussions on route plan for the grand Nagar Kirtan, organized by the Punjab government to mark the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.
Ludhiana, October 26, 2025: MLAs Sarvjit Kaur Manuke, Madan Lal Bagga, Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal along with Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain and MC Commissioner Aaditya Dachalwal on Sunday held detailed discussions on route plan for the grand Nagar Kirtan, organized by the Punjab government to mark the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji.
During the meeting, the MLAs outlined that one of the four grand Nagar Kirtans will commence from Faridkot on November 20, traversing through Ferozepur and Moga before reaching Ludhiana on the same day. Nagar Kirtan will pass through significant landmarks, including Gurudwara Nanaksar Jagraon and Mullanpur Dakha.
They finalized the city route, with the Nagar Kirtan entering Ludhiana via Baddowal, proceeding to Westend Mall, Lodhi Club Road, BRS Nagar (H Block), Orient Cinema, BRS Nagar (E and D Blocks), Sarabha Nagar, Guru Nanak Public School, Malhar Road, Aarti Chowk, Bhai Bala Chowk, Bharat Nagar Chowk, and Durga Mata Mandir, before concluding the day at Gurudwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib for the night.
On the morning of November 21, the Nagar Kirtan will resume from Gurudwara Dukh Niwaran Sahib, proceeding to the Railway Station, Clock Tower Chowk, Jalandhar Bypass, Basti Jodhewal, Samrala Chowk, Oswal Cancer Hospital, and Sherpur, before continuing toward Sahnewal.
The MLAs and DC emphasized that the Nagar Kirtan will be conducted with utmost reverence, embodying the values of communal harmony, peace, brotherhood, compassion, and humanity as preached by Sri Guru Teg Bahadur Ji. These teachings will also be vividly showcased through state-of-the-art light and sound shows which will be held at PAU.
A ceremonial guard of honour will also be accorded to the Nagar Kirtan as it enters Jagraon, Ludhiana city, and Khanna. To ensure a smooth and dignified procession, they directed that the roads along the route be thoroughly cleaned and carpeted for the convenience of participants.
The special invitations to village panchayats, all organizations, trade bodies, and religious institutions, including temples, gurudwaras, mosques and others, will be sent to foster widespread participation. Additionally, designated locations for Langar points also discussed with strict adherence to traditional Maryada (Sikh code of conduct) during all events. To maintain the sanctity of the occasion, all liquor, tobacco, and cigarette shops along the route will remain closed during the Nagar Kirtan. They encouraged all officers to perform their duties with unwavering dedication and selfless service (sewa).
