Ludhiana, October 5, 2026: World Architecture Day was celebrated with an engaging in-house session that brought the team together to reflect on the larger role of architecture beyond drawings, materials and built form.
Ar. Sanjay Goel, former Director of Ludhiana Smart City Ltd. and former Chairman of the Indian Institute of Architects, Punjab Chapter, addressed the team and spoke about how architecture carries a responsibility towards people, culture, climate, and the changing needs of society, with regard to this year’s World Architecture Day theme: “Housing is a human right. Build it.”
He highlighted that good architecture is not only about creating visually appealing buildings, but about understanding how people actually live, interact and experience spaces. He also discussed the importance of responding sensitively to context, local climate, functionality and long-term usability while designing.
The conversation further touched upon the value of learning from traditional architecture and vernacular practices, while adapting those principles meaningfully to contemporary lifestyles and technologies.
Ar. Goel encouraged the team to observe everyday life more closely and to understand how even small design decisions can influence comfort, behaviour and the overall experience of a space.
Team members also shared observations from ongoing projects and discussed how design can become more thoughtful, responsible and human-centred
The celebration concluded with a renewed commitment by the team to create spaces that are meaningful, context-responsive and capable of positively shaping the way people live and interact.
