Design Festival ‘Sutram’ to be Held at DLC SUPVA from August 12 to 14; - Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha unveils the Poster
The poster for the three-day design festival "Sutram" was unveiled on Friday by Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA). Organized under the aegis of the Faculty of Design, the festival will be held from August 12 to 14, culminating with a fashion show featuring apparels designed and created by the SUPVA students.

Rohtak, August 7, 2026: The poster for the three-day design festival "Sutram" was unveiled on Friday by Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha at Dada Lakhmi Chand State University of Performing and Visual Arts (DLC SUPVA). Organized under the aegis of the Faculty of Design, the festival will be held from August 12 to 14, culminating with a fashion show featuring apparels designed and created by the SUPVA students.
Present on the occasion were Dean Academic Affairs Dr. Ajay Kaushik, FC Design Dr. Shaili Khanna, FC Planning and Architecture Ajay Bahu Joshi, FC Visual Arts Vinay Kumar, and Academic Coordinator of the Department of Film and Television Debashish Roy.
Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha said that preparations for the festival, being organized under the guidance of Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya, are in the final stage. She added that, besides the Faculty of Design, all faculties of the university, along with teaching and non-teaching staff are actively contributing to make the event a success.
FC Design Dr. Shaili Khanna said that the festival will begin on the evening of August 12 with "Aloknama", a special literary and cultural programme featuring renowned poet and lyricist Alok Srivastava. The second day will showcase cultural and creative performances by SUPVA students, while the concluding day will feature a fashion show in which students will present garments designed and crafted by them.
She further informed that six master classes will be conducted during the “Sutram”, focusing on traditional Indian crafts such as Phulkari embroidery of Punjab, Madhubani painting of Bihar, Terracotta art and fabric jewellery from Delhi, Hand Block Printing of Rajasthan, and Handloom Weaving of Haryana. School students from the city will also be invited to participate, providing them with an opportunity to learn directly from master artisans and interact with experts.
Dr. Shelly Khanna also said that the SUPVA students will set up food stalls during the festival, while several startups will showcase their products through exhibition stalls. The initiative aims to encourage innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship among young participants.
