This Sunday, viewers are in for an exciting weekend viewing with Sony Entertainment Television’s homegrown kids singing reality show, Superstar Singer 2! On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of Indian Independence, the show will commemorate this grand celebration with much gusto as the contestants, captains and judges give a musical and patriotic tribute in the ‘Independence Day Special’  - Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. Gracing this special episode will be the honourable personalities from the armed forces and their families. With a patriotic vibe, this beautiful and heart-warming celebration will be a treat to watch as the feeling of patriotism will be at its fullest!

In the ‘Independence Day’ special episode, Desh Ka Raja Beta, contestant Mani from Mohali will give a befitting tribute to his country as he performs on the soulful songs ‘Mera Rang De Basanti’ and ‘Teri Mitti’. This magical patriotic act by Mani will not only receive accolades but will also move everyone deeply leaving them teary eyed as it evoked a feeling of pride amongst everybody present there. Impressed by Mani’s performance, writer of the song ‘Teri Mitti’, Manoj Muntashir shared, “Ihad written this song 3 years ago and since then I have been listening to various versions of this song. But, today the way you sang ‘Teri Mitti’, I have never heard or seen something like this before. It was filled with so much of innocence and simplicity. You have sang this song with so much purity just like the purity our soldiers have in them when they give their life or fight for their country . Your country will truly proud of you.”

Making this moment extra special for Mani will be Ret. Paratrooper Army Chief Gurmail Singh and his wife who will be coming to cheer for Mani. Not only this, the couple will give a special blessing to Mani as they get Kada prasad for this little wonder. Truly a memorable moment for Mani.
