Depression led man to commit suicide by jumping from fourth floor of Satguru Partap Singh Apollo Hospital

Ludhiana, August 25, 2013: In a tragic and unexpected incident a person identified as Jagtar Singh, 36, of Mandi Gobindgarh, allegedly committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of Satguru Partap Singh Apollo Hospital on Sunday morning.
The deceased’s wife Gurmeet Kaur has informed the police that her husband was suffering from depression for the past few months.
The deceased was in the hospital to attend to his father-in-law, who had recently suffered a heart attack and had been undergoing treatment at the hospital. And the family had availed of a private room for the patient on the fourth floor.
The incident occurred at around 8-30 am.
The wife of the deceased told the police that she had tried to stop her husband from jumping. However, she did not succeed.
The deceased had been assisting his elder brother, Harjinder Singh in financing business.
Police have not registered an FIR so far.
However, police investigation is on in the matter.
A large number of people had got assembled near to the body of the deceased after the tragic incident. Everybody was seen in shock over the unexpected incident.
