Department of Statistics, Panjab University Organises Preliminary Competitions on “Harmony in Diversity – Awakening Youth for Nation Building”
The Department of Statistics, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, organised preliminary departmental-level competitions for the students of M.Sc. First Year and M.Sc. Second Year on the theme “Harmony in Diversity – Awakening Youth for Nation Building.”
Chandigarh, September 14, 2026: The Department of Statistics, Panjab University (PU), Chandigarh, organised preliminary departmental-level competitions for the students of M.Sc. First Year and M.Sc. Second Year on the theme “Harmony in Diversity – Awakening Youth for Nation Building.”
Three competitions were conducted as part of the preliminary round. These included a Declamation Contest on “The Relevance of Swami Vivekananda’s Chicago Address in the 21st Century”, a Poster Making Competition based on themes related to the life and teachings of Swami Vivekananda, and a Slogan Writing Competition focusing on his empowering thoughts and their relevance to youth, character building, national development, unity and social harmony. The winner in each category at the preliminary level will be given an opportunity to participate in the Zonal-Level Competition to be held on September 30, 2026.
The competitions provided students with a platform to express their ideas, creativity and understanding of Swami Vivekananda’s vision on the 133rd Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s landmark address.
The event was coordinated by Associate Professor, Department of Statistics PU,Dr. Anju Goyal. The individual competitions were conducted by research scholars Versha Dwivedi and Amit Kumar for Declamation, Riya Kanthwal and Puneet Kumar for Slogan Writing, and Hitika and Sumit Kumar for Poster Making.
