Department of Pediatrics, DMC&H, organized a CME titled “Everyday Pediatrics: Fluids, Bugs & Beyond” at the Dumra Auditorium, DMC&H. The academic event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 150 delegates across Punjab, including practicing pediatricians, postgraduate students, and faculty members from various medical colleges.

Ludhiana, November 12, 2025: Department of Pediatrics, DMC&H, organized a CME titled “Everyday Pediatrics: Fluids, Bugs & Beyond” at the Dumra Auditorium, DMC&H. The academic event witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 150 delegates across Punjab, including practicing pediatricians, postgraduate students, and faculty members from various medical colleges.
The CME featured insightful sessions delivered by eminent pediatric faculty and experts from reputed medical colleges across the state. Topics included practical aspects of pediatric fluid management, common diseases like dengue, immunisation, and everyday clinical challenges. A special session on Kawasaki Disease drew wide interest, highlighting recent advances and marking the launch of the dedicated Kawasaki Disease (KD) Clinic at DMC&H—one of the few centers in the region offering comprehensive care for this condition.
The event was graced by the presence of Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society, Dr. Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics, and Dr. Sandeep Sharma, Medical Superintendent.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Puneet A. Pooni, Professor & Head, Department of Pediatrics, DMC&H said, “The Pediatric CME 2025 aimed to bring together pediatricians and healthcare professionals to share the latest knowledge and evidence-based practices that directly impact everyday pediatric care. Our focus was on practical, clinically relevant topics that enhance patient outcomes.”
Adding a refreshing dimension to the program were two special non-academic talks—“Beyond success: Social, Emotional Learning and the meaning of life” by Dr. Puneet A. Pooni, Professor & Head, Department of Pediatrics, & Organising Chairperson emphasizing empathy and holistic child development and beautiful life lessons, and “Pediatric Secrets you don’t learn from Textbooks” by Dr. Daljit Singh, Ex-Principal, DMC&H, which shared timeless clinical pearls and experience-based wisdom.
A highlight of the event was the launch of Alumni Times, a unique magazine celebrating the achievements, memories, and milestones of the DMC&H pediatric fraternity. The magazine is spearheaded by Editor-in-Chief Dr. Karambir Gill, (Assistant Professor), with creative design and conceptualization by two dynamic junior residents, adding youthful energy and innovation to the endeavor.
The event was efficiently led by Organizing Secretaries, Dr. Ritesh Chhabra and Dr. Kamal Arora, and smoothly coordinated by Organizing Joint Secretary, Dr. Sumati Verma (Assistant Professor) with her team member Dr. Amneet Kaur (NICU fellow), who managed the stage proceedings with grace and precision. The organizing team included dedicated faculty members Dr. Deepak Bhat, Dr. JS Goraya, Dr. GS Dhooria, Dr. Siddharth Bhargava, and Dr. Gurpreet Singh, whose collective efforts ensured the academic and logistical success of the CME.
This year’s event also marked a celebration of 40 glorious years of excellence in pediatric education at DMC&H—a proud legacy of compassionate care, innovation, and academic distinction that continues to inspire generations of pediatricians.
The day concluded with a vibrant Pediatric Alumni Meet, where nearly 100 alumni of the DMC&H Pediatrics Department came together with their families for an evening of music, nostalgia, and camaraderie. The event beautifully blended learning, celebration, and togetherness, reflecting the proud legacy and unity of the DMC&H pediatric family.
