Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology Launches Antenatal Care Facility “Swasth Rahein Aap, Muskurate Rahein Saath”

Ludhiana, June 3, 2026: The Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, DMC&H, has launched a dedicated antenatal care facility titled “Swasth Rahein Aap, Muskurate Rahein Saath” for pregnant women with the objective of promoting safe motherhood through awareness, education, and compassionate care.

A specially designed informational booklet focusing on maternal and antenatal care was also unveiled during the launch ceremony.

The ceremony was graced by Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society; Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society; Dr. G.S. Wander, Principal, DMC&H; Dr Ashima Taneja, Additional Medical Supdt., DMC&H; Dr Puneet A Pooni Professor & Head of Paediatrics; Dr B P Mishra, Professor & Head of Clinical Psychology; Dr Shaweta Mahajan (PT) and Dr Priyanka Adya (PT) from Department of Physiotherapy, DMC&H and  other  senior faculty members.

The initiative will be led by Dr. Ashima Taneja, Professor & Head Department of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (Additional Medical Supdt.) DMC&H and Gauri Chhabra, Process Consultant DMC&H.

Under this facility, expecting mothers will receive weekly health tips along with twice-monthly awareness sessions focused on holistic maternal and newborn well-being. These sessions will cover topics such as yoga, safe exercises during pregnancy, balanced diet and nutrition, mental health and emotional well-being, japa and relaxation practices, birth preparedness, options for painless delivery, breastfeeding support, and essential newborn care, ensuring comprehensive guidance and support for mothers and families within the facility.

Sh. Bipin Gupta Secreatry, DMC&H Managing Society, DMC&H stated, “Healthy mothers are the foundation of a healthy society. Through this initiative, DMC&H aims to provide holistic antenatal care by combining medical excellence with awareness, emotional support, and compassionate guidance for every expecting mother.”

This facility will further strengthen our commitment towards safe motherhood and quality healthcare services for women.”

Dr. Ashima Taneja shared, “Pregnancy is a beautiful journey that requires timely guidance, proper counselling, and continuous care. Through this initiative, we aim to empower women with the right knowledge and support to ensure healthier pregnancies and safer motherhood experiences.”
