Department of Music, PU celebrated “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” on 76th Independence Day

Chandigarh, August 16, 2022: The Department of Music, Panjab University celebrated “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” on 76th Independence Day.  The students and staff of the department participated and presented National Anthem, Vande Matram and Patriotic song at Independence Day Celebration of the Panjab University, Chandigarh.  The department of Music also participated in Har Ghar Tiranga campaign as a part of Govt. of India initiatives and organised Selfie competition showing Hoist of the National Flag at homes.  Faculty, staff and students participated in the events very enthusiastically. Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma, Instructor (Tabla) shared his photo while Hoist of National Flag to encourage students.  The best entries will be awarded by the prizes on the occasion of Annual Day of the department.  Professor Neelam Paul appreciated students and expressed that students of department of music are performing very sincerely since many years to make the celebration of Independence Day of Panjab University a grand success.  She also expressed her gratitude to Dr. Anil Kumar Sharma (Instructor-Tabla) Dr. Thakur Singh (Instructor-Vocal), Dr. Tijender Kumar (Instructor-Instrumental), Mr. Rakesh Kumar (Harmonium accompanist) and Mr. Rajneesh Dhiman (Tabla accompanist) for their unmatched support in the event.
