Jalandhar, May 5, 2025: The Department of Dance and Music (Vocal) of PCM SD College for Women, Jalandhar, in collaboration with Spic Macay, organized a mesmerizing Kathak Recital by the renowned artist Dr. Mansi Saxena, an accomplished exponent of the Jaipur Gharana and a dedicated disciple of the legendary Guru Rajendra Gangani.

The event commenced with Dr. Saxena’s soulful invocation to Goddess Durga through a powerful ‘Durga Stuti’, setting a spiritually uplifting tone for the performance. She then presented a graceful ‘Chaturang’, showcasing intricate rhythmic patterns, footwork, and abhinaya. The recital concluded with a poignant ‘Thumri’, leaving the audience spellbound with her expressive storytelling and emotive gestures.

The performance was a rich confluence of rhythm, expression, and devotion, offering the students a deep insight into the classical dance tradition of India. Principal Dr Pooja Prashar lauded Dr. Mansi Saxena’s performance and appreciated Spic Macay’s efforts in promoting Indian classical arts among the youth. Students were thoroughly captivated by the performance and expressed their admiration and interest in the classical art form.
