Department of Community Medicine, DMC&H Conducts ‘One Health’ Awareness Activities at RHTC Pohir

Ludhiana, November 3, 2025: Under the aegis of IAPSM & ICMR Joint Initiative, Department of Community Medicine, Dayanand Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana organized Awareness sessions and Rally on ‘One Health’ involving Medical & Nursing students, Healthcare workers and NGOs for Rural Community at Rural health Training centre (RHTC) Pohir on Monday.
In his message, Bipin Gupta Secretary DMC&H Managing Society congratulated and lauded the efforts of the department for organizing the event.
Dr GS Wander, Principal DMC&H conveyed the message to students and community to commit themselves towards this goal.
On this occasion, Dr Anurag Chaudhary, Professor & Head of the department unfolded the Theme: “One World, One Health- United for Human, Animal and Environmental Well-being” and emphasized that one health is an collaborative approach between Government, Health Professionals, environmental experts and Communities, which aim at optimizing human, animal and environmental health.
Dr Sarit Sharma, Professor of Community Medicine stressed on antimicrobial resistance.
Dr Mahesh Satija Nodal Officer of the event addressed on prevention of Zoonotic diseases such as rabies.
Dr Surinder Pal Singh, Incharge RHC, Pohir emphasized on Food Safety and Nutrition.
Dr Pranjl Sharma thanked Manisha and Nursing students from College of Nursing DMC&H, Manjit Singh from Nishkam Sewa Society, Healthcare workers and interns for enthusiastically participating in the event.
