Department of Anthropology Marks 5th Anniversary of ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan’ with Educational Seminar

Chandigarh, November 1, 2025: The Department of Anthropology, today conducted an educational seminar to commemorate 5th anniversary of “NashaMukt Bharat Abhiyan” campaign.
 
The event drew participation from 80-90 students and featured an engaging session by university counsellor Ms Pulkita, who sensitized the attendees on measures to prevent, control, and avoid drug and substance abuse. The session emphasized practical strategies that students can use and promotes a sense of responsibility for building a drug-free campus environment.
 
In addition to the seminar, the Department also organized a poster making competition on the same theme. The competition encouraged students to creatively express the importance of a healthy, drug-free lifestyle and actively engage with the campaign’s message. Entries were evaluated for relevance, visual impact, and clarity of theme, providing a platform for students to demonstrate both awareness and artistic talent and best entries were awarded by the department. Chairperson Dr. J.S. Sehrawat commended the active participation of students in both events, reinforcing the department’s commitment to fostering social responsibility and holistic well-being.
