Demand of CoviSelf Home Testing Kit increases by 4.5 times amid rising cases and Omicron scare

Amid the emergence of the Omicron variant of the coronavirus in the country, the demand for CoviSelf, India’s first self-test antigen test kit by Mylab, saw a sudden jump in demand in last few weeks. The self-test kit can detect major variants of coronavirus including Omicron. The company has scaled up production and started making test available across India.
“We saw 4.5 times rise in the demand of CoviSelf Self Testing kit in last 11 weeks. We have the production capacity of 2.4 million units of our portfolio of COVID test kits and we are well-prepared to scale it up if the situation demands. We expect a further increase with in coming months, said Hasmukh Rawal, MD & Co-founder, Mylab Discovery Solutions.
He said given the situation, the company has made the test available for online ordering on company website. Also, the kit is readily available at nearby pharmacy or chemist shops. CoviSelf offers a comfortable, easy-to-use and accurate alternative to the current test method. It can be used by individuals with or without symptoms and immediate contacts of confirmed cases as per the ICMR guidelines. Designed as the mid-nasal swab test, it can detect positive results in just 15 mins. Each unit contains a testing kit, instructions to use (IFU) leaflet and a bag to safely dispose of after testing.
