Dharamshala, May 20, 2025: Kangra Lok Sabha MP Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj today met Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi and urged him to establish a training center of the Central Security Forces in Chamba district.
Highlighting the strategic importance of the region, Dr. Bhardwaj emphasized that the border areas of Chamba are highly sensitive from a security standpoint. He said that the establishment of a Central Security Forces training facility would strengthen peace and security in the area.
In the meeting, Dr. Bhardwaj also raised the issue of increasing the honorarium of Special Police Officers (SPOs) deployed in the border regions of Churah and Chamba. He noted that these SPOs have been serving the nation for years under challenging conditions in remote locations, yet their remuneration remains inadequate. He pointed out the disparity between the honorarium received by SPOs in Himachal Pradesh and those serving in the border state of Jammu and Kashmir, despite similar duties and working conditions.
The MP also extended an invitation to Amit Shah to visit the Kangra parliamentary constituency during this summer. The Union Minister accepted the invitation and assured full support.
Responding positively to the demands, Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah directed concerned officials to take appropriate action. MP Dr. Rajiv Bhardwaj expressed gratitude to the Minister for his constructive response and commitment.
