On Tuesday, the state's Department of Art and Cultural Affairs held its first meeting in Chandigarh with the Vice-Chancellor, Registrar, and faculty of SUPVA to deliberate on the potential format of the festival. The meeting was chaired by KM Pandurang, Director General of the Department of Art and Cultural Affairs. Attendees included Additional Director Vivek Kalia, Project Director Dr. Pawan Arya, Visual Arts Officer Renu Hooda, Theatre Officer Tanya Chauhan, Dance Officer Suman Dangi, Sculpture Officer Hriday Kaushal, DLC-SUPVA Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya, Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha, and faculty members from the Film and Television department, such as Deepti Khurana and Keshav.  During the meeting, Director General KM Pandurang noted that while presenting the budget in March, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini had announced the hosting of an annual Haryana Film Festival at SUPVA in collaboration with the Department of Art and Cultural Affairs. The aim is for the Department and SUPVA to jointly give concrete shape to this announcement within the current year. To date, no such film festival has been organized at the government level in Haryana. Every possible effort will be made through this event to elevate the state's art and culture to new heights.

Vice-Chancellor Dr. Amit Arya stated that, in alignment with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini's visionary outlook, the Haryana Film Festival would provide a new platform for regional cinema, independent filmmakers, student creators, and documentary makers. The decision to host the Haryana Film Festival at SUPVA is undoubtedly a commendable step by the state government. This initiative will not only help preserve the state's art and culture but also provide SUPVA students with unique exposure. Filmmaker Atul Gangwar also offered suggestions regarding the format of the film festival.

Registrar Dr. Gunjan Malik Manocha stated that artists, music, and albums from Haryana are currently gaining nationwide acclaim. She noted that SUPVA is the country's first university of its kind to offer various degree courses in acting, direction, cinematography, editing, and audiography. After completing their studies here, students are proving their mettle in film industries both in India and abroad. Short films and documentaries created by SUPVA students are being screened at film festivals across the globe and are winning numerous awards.
