THE PURPOSE OF THE TOUR WAS TO RE-START INDUSTRIAL ACTIVITIES IN THEIR INDUSTRIAL UNITS

DELEGATION OF INDUSTRIALISTS FROM JALANDHAR AND KAPURTHALA REGION VISITS RCF 

Kapurthala: A delegation of industrialists from Jalandhar and Kapurthala region led by Rana Gurjit Singh MLA from Kapurthala and Narinder Singh Saggu, President Focal Point Extension Association visited Rail Coach Factory today. The purpose of the tour was to re-start industrial activities in their industrial units as they have closed for more than a month due to the lockdown.  The industrialists wanted to study the industrial activities in RCF and its compliance to the guidelines issued by the state govt.  while observing precautions at work. 
It should be noted that the Rail Coach Factory has started production of rail coaches with limited manpower from April 23, 2020. 3744 employees and officers of RCF are working in various shifts. All officers and Staff living in the colony have been called to work. Each employee has been given a kit to protect against corona virus which includes face mask, gloves, sanitizer, soap and safety guidelines.
All the vehicles of the delegation were sanitized in the sanitization tunnel at the entry gate of RCF and members of delegation were given kits including gloves, sanitizers, face masks, prevention precautions reg. corona virus etc. The team visited RCF Workshop where R K Mangala, Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer of RCF apprised them of the safety precautions being observed while working by the staff. 
The delegation attended a meeting in the conference hall in which RCF General Manager Ravindra Gupta briefed them about the steps undertaken by RCF to fight out Covid-19. He said that RCF administration is constantly in touch with Civil Administration, Kapurthala and Railway Board, New Delhi.
Rana Gurjit Singh MLA in his address said that starting off the production work by RCF from April 23, 2020 indicates the courage and perseverance of RCF. He said that this initiative is a matter of inspiration and it should be appreciated.
A presentation was also made in the meeting which showcased the efforts being made by RCF in the fight against Kovid. Apart from this, a brochure prepared by RCF was also distributed to all the industrialists which showed the precautions to protect besides, the efforts of RCF to fight against  Covid-19. At the end of the meeting there was also an inter active session in which the industrialists held serious discussions to start work in their  industrial units. /(Rajat Kumar, Jalandhar)
