Chandigarh, May 21, 2026: Panjab University, Chandigarh will host a one-day national symposium ‘Shakti and Srishti’ at the Convention Centre, Panjab University, Sector 25, Chandigarh, on May 30.
The symposium will bring together environmentalists, social reformers, policymakers and academicians to deliberate on the role of women in ecological conservation, sustainable development and community resilience.
A delegation of organisers from Panjab University and associated social and environmental organisations met the Honorable Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Union Territory Chandigarh, Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, at Lok Bhawan, Chandigarh and briefed him about the symposium centred on women’s empowerment and environmental sustainability.
During the meeting, the delegation apprised the Governor of the key themes, scheduled sessions, and the diverse lineup of speakers expected to attend the event.
The Honorable Governor highly appreciated the vision behind the symposium, noting that aligning gender empowerment with ecological consciousness is deeply relevant to modern societal challenges. He commended the organisers for selecting a theme deeply rooted in our cultural values and vital for a sustainable future. He extended his best wishes for the success of the event.
