Delegation from Afghan and USA visits PU

Chandigarh: A delegation (ten Afghan Faculty plus five Ball State University Faculty) in association with Ball State University, Indiana, USA, led by Principal Jatinder Bir Singh, SGGS College of Commerce, University of Delhi, visited the Department of  Economics, Panjab University, Chandigarh, today under 10 weeks (January-March,2020) program “Afghan Faculty Forum for Enrichment, Collaboration and Training(AFFECT). 
In a three hour long discussion, the delegates discussed updates in curriculum of the Department of Economics, Panjab University, Chandigarh. 
The faculty members explained them the peer practices followed regularly to update the syllabi of various courses offered. The delegates were also informed about diverse research areas to which the faculty of the department is dealing with. 
The industry-academic linkages to offer a gainful employment were also deliberated upon with the delegates. 
It was also suggested to them to follow a balanced approach so that a quality academicians can be produced alongwith skilled workers by the higher education system of Afghanistan.
