Deeksharambh 2026: Sharda Welcomes Future Leaders

Greater Noida, September 3, 2026: Sharda University, located in Knowledge Park, Greater Noida, successfully organized its University Level Orientation Programme – Deeksharambh 2026, welcoming the new batch of students with an inspiring celebration of culture, knowledge, and leadership. The programme aimed to ease the transition of freshers into university life, acquaint them with Sharda’s ethos and values, and ignite a spirit of curiosity, creativity, and self discovery.
The event was inaugurated with the ceremonial lamp lighting by Chirag Paswan, Union Minister, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, alongside Kritikka Awasthi, Bollywood Actress, Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar, and university leadership including Chancellor P.K. Gupta and Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sibaram Khara.
Chirag Paswan, Union Minister, in his keynote address, remarked: “It is a matter of pride that I am here today in this programme of your orientation at Sharda University. Education is the cornerstone of national progress, and it is essential that both students and faculty embrace innovation, research, and discipline. India’s youth hold immense potential, and with the right habits, positivity, and lifestyle choices, they can achieve success not only within the nation but across the globe. To the new students, I say—embrace this opportunity, challenge yourselves, and contribute meaningfully to society, for the future of India rests in your hands. Pause for a moment and reflect—where do you see yourself in 5, 10, or 25 years? The decisions you make today will shape that journey. When your passion becomes your profession, every moment of your work will bring joy and fulfillment. Choose wisely, for the day your passion aligns with your profession is the day you set yourself firmly in the right direction.”
Encouraging students to think beyond conventional boundaries, P.K. Gupta, Chancellor, Sharda University, stated: “Deeksharambh marks the beginning of a transformative journey. At Sharda University, we nurture creativity and curiosity, for these are the true driving forces of progress. Knowledge must not remain confined to books—it should be applied for the betterment of society. While setbacks are part of learning, with proper guidance every student has the potential to succeed. Our curricula are aligned with the National Education Policy, and our mission is to mould students into exemplary citizens who uphold values, traditions, and lifelong learning. A great responsibility rests upon you all—the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047 cannot be realized without the youth of today. Your efforts, beginning now, will shape the nation’s future and take us towards that goal.”
Sharing his academic perspective, Prof. (Dr.) Rajeev Ahuja, Director, IIT Ropar, said: “Practical knowledge is as essential as theoretical learning. Students must uphold moral values, duties, and cultural ethos, while embracing curiosity and innovation. True education comes not only from books but from every life experience, and it is this holistic approach that shapes leaders of tomorrow.”
The programme featured vibrant cultural performances by university clubs including music, dance, drama, fashion, and literary arts, symbolizing the diversity and creativity of Sharda’s student community. The event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving students inspired and motivated to embark on their academic journey with enthusiasm and confidence.
The program was conducted by Dean (Academic) Dr. R.C. Singh, Admission Director Dr. Rajiv Gupta, and Dean (Student Welfare) Dr. Pramod Kumar.
University officials—including Vice-Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Sibaram Khara, Dr. R.P. Singh, Dean (Research) Dr. Bhuvnesh Kumar, and Director (PR) Dr. Ajit Kumar—along with Deans, Heads of Departments (HoDs), faculty members, staff, and students from various schools, were present at the event.
