Deeksharambh 2025 Day 4 at DAV University Promotes Fitness, Legal Awareness, Sustainability, and Cultural Pride
Day 4 of Deeksharambh 2025 at DAV University was marked by a rich blend of legal sensitization, environmental awareness, physical fitness, and cultural celebration.

Jalandhar, August 7, 2025: Day 4 of Deeksharambh 2025 at DAV University was marked by a rich blend of legal sensitization, environmental awareness, physical fitness, and cultural celebration.
The day began with a powerful session on the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, conducted by Advocate Meher Sachdev in collaboration with the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA). Addressing a jam-packed auditorium, Advocate Sachdev sensitized students to the legal safeguards available under the Act, emphasized the importance of early reporting and intervention, and urged students to become informed ambassadors of child rights and safety in their communities.
This was followed by an eye-opening session on Waste Management led by Dr. Reena Chadha from IPCA. In her engaging and interactive talk, Dr. Chadha emphasized the urgent need for sustainable waste handling practices. She educated students on proper segregation, recycling, and how small, consistent actions can significantly reduce their ecological footprint.
Earlier, a motivational session on Sports and Fitness was conducted by Dr. Yeshbeer Singh, Deputy Director Sports, DAV University. He encouraged students to incorporate physical activity into their daily routines and make use of the university’s sports infrastructure for their overall development.
The day concluded with an energetic and joyful celebration of Punjabi culture. Students enthusiastically participated in a Punjabi Folk Dance session, tapping their feet to the vibrant rhythms of Bhangra and Giddha, creating a lively and memorable atmosphere.
“Deeksharambh 2025 continues to offer students a dynamic induction experience, blending legal literacy, environmental consciousness, fitness, and cultural pride,” said Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, DAV University. “We aim to shape responsible, aware, and well-rounded individuals who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to society.”
Prof. (Dr.) S.K. Arora, Registrar, DAV University, appreciated the diversity of sessions offered throughout the day and noted that such experiences are vital in shaping students beyond academics. He emphasized the role of co-curricular learning in developing socially responsible and self-aware individuals.
Dr. Kamaljeet Kaur Sidhu, Dean Students’ Welfare, highlighted the university’s commitment to nurturing well-rounded individuals through a blend of informative, legal, environmental, and cultural sessions. She stressed that these activities build awareness, discipline, and a sense of social responsibility among students.
